Coaching technical teams is challenging. You want to improve the process. The team is focused on the product, if you're lucky, or the technology. Sometimes you feel like the aid worker overseas trying to help people wondering why the people you're trying to help don't seem to appreciate your efforts. br> Stephen will present an alternate framework for and approach to process improvement based on a player/coach model. He will give specific techniques and real-life examples from his experiences as a manager and coach. By embedding in the team and working alongside them in their day-to-day activities, you can effectively guide them to higher performance in a much more targeted way.
About the Speaker
Stephen Vance (@StephenRVance, vance.com) has served in most roles in the software product development process across a wide range of industries and technologies from startups to Fortune 100. For the last several years, he has focused on coaching teams in Lean and Agile approaches to development and testing as a practitioner, manager and consultant. He is currently Director of Agile at Zipcar. He is the author of "Quality Code: Software Testing Principles, Practices, and Patterns", available through Addison-Wesley and presents internationally.
